Can I record or get a recording of a VCAT Hearing?

Yes – as of Nov.11th 2013, VCAT have re-instated the ability to get recordings of hearings – up to $110 per day for the recordings. Regarding self recorded hearings, SOS was advised the decision would be up to the presiding member, and we recommend you are very clear about requesting permission from the Member to record – hearing rooms already have warnings of recording in progress etc. More Info from VCAT here.

Audio CDs and transcripts of hearings are also available to parties at a cost.
